Weigh in Saturday

Looking forward to the weigh-in on Saturday.  Unfortunately I’ll have miss my fellow competitors as I have a game at 1PM. Feeling ok.  Still eating well.  I should be sprouting feathers with the amount of chicken I eat.  My guess is I’ll be down another 3 or four pounds since last weigh in and more than half way to the 33 pound goal with three months to go.  I hope the unofficial scale hasn’t let me down.  Got to go, chicken just got delivered to the booth.

Last Notch on the Belt

The first home stand has come and gone and I did not stray from the game plan.  Had salads with grilled chicken for most lunches and the girls in the kitchen next to my radio booth made me two chicken breasts with a bowl of fruit for dinner every night.  After the game they put out a meal for the players in the clubhouse.  I would usually indulge in that but have not had anything but a handful of fruit on one occasion.  Not snacking during the day here has been huge.  All three of my belts are down to the last notch unless I’m wearing pants that are a little too big and all the material bunches up causing me to use a larger notch.  The last three days the unofficial scale in my office has me at 215, down 18.  With a week to go before the weight in, I’d taker that weight next week.  Hopefully it will be less.  But I’m pretty comfortable in saying that I’m more than half way to the goal with more than half of the contest left.  Now if we can get the Captains to win a game, that might be the biggest challenge right now!

Ballpark Every Day

In the middle of the seven games at the ballpark.  Been doing a good job of not snacking during the day.  Way too easy to grab a bag of chips as I walk through the concourse.  Looks like I’m down a couple more pounds.  Need to start back on my grilled chicken wraps here at the park.  They are delicious and good for me.  Haven’t gotten back in that routine yet.  Staying away from the new Moby Dick sandwich.  Not ready for a five pound sandwich.  Maybe if I hit the 33 pound goal, I’ll give it a go.

Greeting from Fort Wayne

The first road trip with the team is going well.  We won last night.  The Captains 5th straight opening night win.  I was pretty good yesterday with my eating habits.  Nice salad with a small steak on top for lunch.  Had some chicken breasts for dinner but did treat myself to a little mac and cheese.  They make the best home made potato chips at this stadium.  I had a few just to say I did.  So overall pretty good.  Two drinks after the game. Here's the Restaurant review for the day that I teased about in my last blog.  Went to Cindys's Diner here in downtown Fort Wayne.  Great little diner that boasts that they "Serve the Entire World, Fifteen People at a Time".  Love that.  Had the garbage for breakfast which is basically scrambled eggs with some hash browns, ham, cheese and whaterver else they decide to add to it.  One piece of Rye toast to go along with it and coffee.  Nice way to start the day and did not feel the need for lunch.  I'll grab something helathy here in the press box and probably go out after the game and have a cocktail or two which is in my caloric budget.  A little different eating habits than I've had on the road in recent years.  I'll check in next week as we prepare for our home opener on Thursday.

Not Bad

Hit the scales yestereday down 14.8 pounds.  I wee bit under my 15 pound goal, but I'll take it.  I was a little disappointed but I shouldn't complain since I'm ahead of the pace nedded to drop 33 pounds in six months.  Gina and I went for a nice dinner last night at Bistro 70 in Painseville and I had every intention of having whatever I wanted regardless of the caloric content.  Splurge for a night before the season starts.  Ended up doing a little lamb for an appetizer, a nice dinner salad with dressing on the side and seared Ahi tuna.  It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time and was still pretty much in line with my new and improved eating habits.  Scale of 1-5, Bistro 70 was a 5.  Great service, food and nice atmosphere.  Felt like we were in a downtown Cleveland restaurant.  So there's my update, no extra charge for the restaurant review and the fantasy draft we had yesterday went well.  Time to Play Ball!  Next update from Fort Wayne later in the week.  There is a a diner there I will tell you about that has a very catchy slogan.  That's called a tease and that's where I'll leave you today.
